Vladimir Sofronitsky: Great Pianists of the 20th Century, Vol. 9:buyers who shop here marketplace and its localized counterparts, enjoy a highly personalized experience with an unparalleled selection at great value. Sofronitsky's interpretation of Scriabin's sonata No.3 is the most stunning one. My favorite movement is the fourth one, presto con fuoco: violent, chaotic, rough, furious, yet sensual, provocative, enticing.Sofronitsky loved Scriabin, loved him madly since he was young. He felt close to the composer's music as if he composed it himself, and you can hear that passion when he played Scriabin's music. He played it from the heart, spontaneously, passionately. There is something deep, painful, furious, irrational, seductive about his style. It is disturbingly beautiful. "Vers la Flamme" is another masterpiece. The remastered sound is surprisingly good for end 50's recording.Sofronitsky has a special way of speaking to me when playing Scriabin, with his virile and sensual voice. Scriabin's music makes sense when you hear his interpretation. No other pianist can come close to him. John Ogdon has recorded two Scriabin CDs, a compilation of sonatas, preludes, etudes: his interpretation is strong but dull.Pletnev's Scriabin is sensitive and romantic, but not passionate nor wild.Volodos has a recording (live at Carnegie Hall) with Scriabin sonata No.10 which is quite remarkable.Richter's Scriabin is beautiful too, but I still think that Sofronitsky really felt Scriabin deeply. He was the most moving and the best Scriabin interpreter.oklahoma city mall,award-winning store, phoenix mallVladimir Sofronitsky: Great Pianists of the 20th Century, Vol. 9
